I have 2 sound cards installed. An onboard ac'97 and a creative Audigy 2 Platnium eX. Now its a fresh install of Vista Build 5384, and i went in to bios before i installed to shut off ac'97 card. So would try to cut back on chance of windows freeking out. But alas to no avail. I did go to creative website and try the drivers for previous build of vista, no luck there either. So tryed the xp drivers, and bingo the WDM driver installed.. but still no sound. Tried the head phone jack, digital output, Coax, optical, Nothing.
Now it shows sound playing on the volume control, but i got nothing
So I enabled sound card in bios for ac'97 and tryed that, drivers installed. Again with no luck with any sound.
HELP!
My system is a Amd 64 X2 4200, on a ECS KV2 Lite, with 2 gigs memory, a XFX 7800 GS OC.

No sound. Period at all.
Support for audio devices from Creative probably won't happen until after Vista is released. Some of my devices are not working, what should I do?
You can do a couple things, check the manufacturers website for updates. If your internet connection is working in Windows Vista, I suggest you try obtaining the drivers through Windows Update. Click Start > All Programs > Windows Update > Turn on Windows Update. A list of available updates will then be downloaded, you will have the option to view them, do so and check off the appropriate drivers you need and click Install. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I would be happy to use the Windows Update but that errors out as well.

Trying installing the Creative XP64 drivers twice. I have an Audgiy 2zs running on Wista64. I read in another post about installing the drivers twice and it worked. Well almost, but no cracking, popping or hissing but I've yet to get 5.1 sound just 2.1 but that's better than nothing.
